Bilt Rewards, the first loyalty program that allows you to earn fee-free points when paying rent, is getting more appetizing. Members can now earn 5x Bilt Rewards points for dining at select restaurants, and those who hold the Bilt Mastercard can earn an additional 3x points when they pay the bill with the card, for a total of 8 points per $1 spent.

Cardholders who dine at eligible restaurants on the first of each month can order up even more rewards. Since cardholders earn double rewards on all purchases made on the first day of each month (dubbed “Rent Day”), those 3x points earned on dining will double to 6x points. Combined with the 5x Bilt Dining rewards earned at eligible restaurants, that's a whopping total of 11 points per $1 spent. (Cardholders must make 5 transactions per statement cycle to earn rewards on their card).

Bilt Rewards members who don't hold the Bilt credit card can still earn 5x points through Bilt Dining. In the Bilt app, just add any Visa, Mastercard, or American Express card to your Bilt Wallet, and you'll get rewarded when you use that card on eligible dining purchases. You'll get a bonus of 100 Bilt Rewards points for each card you add to the Wallet, up to three cards.

How does the Bilt Dining program stack up?

Currently, the Bilt Dining program includes over 2,100 eligible restaurants, but only in five U.S. cities: New York City, Boston, Atlanta, Dallas and Chicago. But according to Bilt, more cities will be added eventually.

While other dining programs have a broader footprint than Bilt Dining, most of them are tied to earning bonus points on a specific airline or hotel brand.

Bilt points, though, are more flexible — they can be transferred at a 1:1 ratio at a variety of travel partners, including Hyatt, American Airlines and United, among others. They can also be redeemed toward rent, a down payment on a new house, fitness classes or unique art and decor. That flexibility makes the new Bilt Dining program valuable if you are dining in an eligible city.

🤓Nerdy Tip

You must make your dining purchase directly through the restaurant to earn Bilt Dining bonus rewards. Even if an eligible restaurant in the Bilt Dining program is available on a delivery service like Seamless, GrubHub or Uber Eats, you won't earn 5x points when you order through the app.
